DBZ SECRETS

1) The Earth Dragon Balls and the Namek Balls start out being able to grant one wish at a time, but the Earth Balls need 1 year to recharge, while the Namek Balls only need 130 days. The Namek Balls are also 5 times larger.

2) Shenlon is the name of the dragon summoned when the Earth Dragon Balls are gathered, while the Namek Dragon is named Polunga. In a side-by-side size comparison, Polunga is shown to be 5 times larger than Shenlon.

3) There have been 22 wishes made in the series, and the dragons have been summoned for a total of 14 times.

4) The manga identifies all of the (at the time) living full-blooded Saiya-jin to be: Radditz, Nappa, Vejiita, and Gokuu. Half-breeds are: Gohan, Trunks, Goten, and Bra. Pan is the only Saiya-jin Quarter.

5) The Ginyuu 5-man team that fought for Freeza have a team emblem on their fighting jackets. That emblem is a stylized image of team leader Ginyuu's head.

6) Buruma's parents have consistently been identified as: Dr. Briefs, and "Buruma's mother".

7) The physical layout of The Other World is kind of like any empty rice bowl with whipped cream floating above it, encircled by a huge glass sphere. At the top of the sphere is a small planet identified as Dai Kaiou's Planet. Then, there is a bigger planet identified as Heaven. Next, we have the whipped cream -- a huge mass of flattened-out clouds. In the center of the top of the clouds is Enma Daiou's entrance gatehouse, and the airplane that takes souls to heaven. Leading north from the gatehouse is the snake road that reaches Kaiou-sama's planet near the outskirts of the glass sphere. Under the clouds, within the rice bowl, is Hell. Outside of the glass sphere are: The new Namek planet, Kaiou-shin's planet, Pui Pui's planet (Pui Pui is Babi-di's henchman; the planet is named Zun); Yakon's planet (Yakon is another of Babi's hench-monsters, and the planet is named Ankoku); Planet Vejiita, and Freeza's Planet #79.

8) Earth has one big continent that looks like Australia, with Italy joined on at the west end. Penguin Village (the setting for Dr. Slump) is on an island far to the south east. Kame House is halfway between Penguin Village and the Mainland. The Tenkai-ichi Budoukai is held on Papaya Island, due south of the mainland. Muscle Tower is in the north east corner of the mainland; Satan City is on the east coast; Yamcha, Old Son Gohan, Oolong, and Gokuu had their houses near Satan City. Doctor Gero's lab is on the northern coast. Pilaf's original castle is in the south, along a mountain range; at the south end of the mountain range is Mount Frypan. Buu built Its house at the point where Australia joins with Italy. Half-way down the boot of Italy is Karin Tower. A little farther south is the Red Ribbon HQ. At the instep of the boot is Uranai Baba's combat ring.

9) The girl that saves Gokuu during the battle at Muscle Tower is named Suno (Snow, a pun that stems from her living in a place that's in perpetual winter.)

10) While the manga refers to the Budoukai's by order of appearance in the manga, the very first tournament starts with #21. #24 was skipped (probably because that number was assigned to the Cell Game). #25 marks the appearance of Babi-di. #26 and #27 were skipped. Uubu appears in tournament #28.

11) While most of the vehicles in the series either have "Capsule Corp." or "Red Ribbon" marked on them, there does seem to be some competition from another vehicle builder that always appears nameless.

12) King Cold's spaceship is of the same type as his son's Freeza's ship, but with 3 viewport canopies instead of just one. The Saiya-jin Ball Spaceship is just named "Round Spaceship."

13) Nyoibo is the English spelling for young Gokuu's expanding staff. Translated, Nyoibo means "expanding staff".

14) Ijou is Japanese for "That is all." It is used to indicated that you are done ordering food at a restaurant, or that you have reached the end of a list of things.
